Rev.T. Bankes’s Bible, 19th century
The Bible begins with the Seven Days of Creation. These define Light or Fire, the Firmament or Air, Water, Earth and Plants, that is the four states of matter, and thelife principle. These are then organised into a Cosmos from galaxies to atoms withall their cycles. This Universe is then filled with the Fowl of the Air (or archangels)and the Fish of the Sea (angels). On the Sixth Day the Beasts of the Field (earthlycreatures) emerge with Adam or humanity. These beings are spiritual entities without, as yet, form or substance.
